Responsibilities
Leadership and Management:
• Provide strong and effective leadership for the teachers and teaching assistants within the designated stage.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, promoting professional growth and shared best practices.
• Lead regular stage meetings, ensuring effective communication and information sharing.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide policies and procedures.
Teaching and Learning:
• Monitor the quality of teaching and learning within the stage, ensuring alignment with the school's curriculum and standards.
• Support teachers in the planning, delivery, and assessment of engaging and differentiated lessons.
• Analyze student data to identify trends, set targets, and implement appropriate interventions.
• Lead curriculum development and review within the stage, in collaboration with subject leaders.
• Promote innovative teaching methodologies and the effective use of technology to enhance learning.
Student Well-being:
• Oversee well-being of all students within the stage, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
• Work closely with form tutors/advisors to monitor student progress, attendance, and behavior.
• Support students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs, working with relevant support staff.
Communication and Collaboration:
• Maintain effective communication with parents through meetings, reports, and other channels.
• Collaborate effectively with other Stage Heads, subject leaders, and the senior leadership team.
• Represent the stage at school events and meetings.
Professional Development:
• Identify and support the professional development needs of staff within the stage.
• Participate in relevant professional development opportunities to enhance leadership skills.
• Keep abreast of current educational trends and best practices.
